Sunday School | Roughly 10:30 a.m. (following dismissal from the service of worship)
Following a shared time of worship and fellowship with the adults during the first portion of the service of worship, children pre-K through 5th grade are dismissed with a blessing to go upstairs and continue their time of worship and learning together at an age-appropriate level. They are led by a caring volunteer in an engaging exploration of God's rescue story in the Bible. 1st through 5th grade join together for "What Is in the Bible" and pre-K through K gather for "Godly Play." For us at Valley, we believe that learning should be fun, exciting, and safe, and it should engage both the head and the heart. Kids not only learn what God has done in history, but who God is, who they are as rescued children in Christ and members of God's covenant family, and how they can join God in his ongoing rescue operation in the world! On Sundays when we celebrate the feast of the Lord's Supper, children will return to the service to participate in the family meal of God's people.
